Infra red beams can be used in a similar way to passive infra red detectors where reliability is of importance. In this situation static beams are actually broken, providing a higher degree of accuracy, reducing the cases of false alarm.

The advanced BIAXIAL technology accommodates two 150 metre beams in one rugged weatherproof IP54 housing. The superior design of Radiovisor's electronics enables each beam to be truly independent of the other. This means that if one beam is blocked a fault output will be generated which can be used to indicate at a control panel when an alarm system is being set. The full alarm output only indicates if both beams are simultaneously blocked.

The receiver unit continuously compares the total amount of received energy from the twin transmitters with the amount that was present when the unit was first installed.

The BIAXIAL'S patented electronics can then determine if one or both beams are blocked.

An optional system performance module is available. This gives an additional output if the energy received from both beams drops to a pre alarm level as would happen with dirty lenses or dense fog.

The unit comes complete with integral heaters for all year round performance and may be wall or post mounted (brackets provided as standard). Units can be used at distances of 150metres externally or 200metres internally, and may be stacked in pairs if the units are transposed.
